Bulldozed

Everything that is in the way of the huge excavators must give way. Thus, the highway was already relocated, as well as several villages in the area of Garzweiler, Germany. For the open-cast mining the old villages have been dredged and still are. The process will be going on until at least 2045, because until then the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen plans to produce lignite. The depressing emptiness in the abandoned villages that are about to disappear from the scene, I have recorded photographically. The open-cast mining Garzweiler will increase considerably until 2045, so that approximately eight other villages will be affected from destruction.
